Future Cattleman Scholarship

Sponsored by: National Junior Hereford Association & American Hereford Association

The AHA and NJHA will annually offer two $750 college scholarships to worthy recipients having made outstanding contributions to the Hereford industry.  Winners will be announced at the NJHA PRIDE Convention.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicant must be an active member of the National Junior Hereford Association and 18 years of age as of January 1.
2. Applicant may receive award only once.  
3. Applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis in the college of their choice at the time the award is received.  Applicants must be enrolled in a curriculum of agriculture that is directly related to the Hereford industry.
4. Parent or guardian of applicant must be a current paid member of the American Hereford Women or the American Hereford Association.
5. Applications must be postmarked no later than MAY 1.

Selection
1. A three-member selection committee will be appointed to independently review the applications, which will be evaluated on a percentage point system.
2. Two Future Cattleman Scholarships will be awarded.  Applicant may apply for other awards and scholarships in the same year, for which the applicant is eligible.
3. The $750 cash award will be presented to each recipient during the awards banquet of the NJHA PRIDE Convention.
