John Wayne Memorial Scholarship

The Hereford Youth Foundation of America/American Hereford Women will annually award two $1,000 college scholarships to individuals having made outstanding contributions to agriculture and the Hereford industry. Winners will be announced at the Junior National Hereford Expo.

Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicant must be an active member of the National Junior Hereford Association.
2. Applicant may receive award only once. NJHA national directors are ineligible to receive an award.
3. Parent or guardian of applicant must be a current paid member of the American Hereford Women or the American Hereford Association.
4. Applicant must be enrolled on a full time basis in a college of their choice at the time the award is received.  Applicant must be interested in pursuing a career related to agriculture, home economics or a field directly related to the Hereford industry.
5. Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1.

Selection
1. Applications will be reviewed by a qualified selection committee designated by the American Hereford Women Executive Committee.
2. Applicants will be evaluated on the following point system:  Sections I, II, III, 900 points total; Section IV, 100 points.
3. Two scholarship winners will be announced at the Junior National Hereford Expo.
